Natacha Valla is joining Wakam’s Board of Directors as an observer for a period of three years. She will provide Wakam with her experience and expertise in governing major international groups.
Natacha Valla, Dean at the Sciences Po School of Management and Innovation in Paris, is an economist by training. This former Deputy Director for monetary policy at the European Central Bank holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence. She has authored numerous books and reference articles on international monetary economics. The Commission on the Future of Public Finances set up by the French Prime Minister in December 2020 benefited from her participation; she was namely tasked with reflecting on the impact of the ‘Covid debt’. She is also a director of several international companies, currently including Scor and LVMH.
Natacha Valla’s appointment completes Wakam’s governance that was only recently strengthened by appointing Emmanuel Clarke as Chairman as well as Rémi Grenier and Gilles Babinet as Independent Directors.
“I am very pleased that Natacha Valla has agreed to join us as the European economy is experiencing an unprecedented shock. Her command of great economic balances and the financial risk models that govern the global economy will be extremely valuable to us. Wakam’s Board of Directors will also find her experience, particularly with governing large international groups, an invaluable asset. Her arrival will significantly strengthen our governance, enabling us to quickly achieve the objectives of our 2021-2023 ‘YesWakam’ strategic plan,” stated Olivier Jaillon, Chief Executive & Enablement Officer of Wakam.
